The Cardiothoracic Surgery Research Program (CSRP) at the Medical University of South Carolina is dedicated to the mission of improving the diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic heart failure. The CSRP is actively engaged in basic and clinical studies regarding the genetic, molecular, cellular and physiological basis for the development and progression of heart failure. Using combined molecular and integrative approaches, the CSRP is uniquely capable of taking basic scientific discoveries which are made in the laboratory through the investigative avenues necessary in order to achieve new and important treatments for patients suffering with heart failure. This site will provide information on the various research activities which take place in the CSRP, how you can get involved in this research, a basic description of heart failure and what it means to you, and how you can get in contact with us.
