| This laboratory is where the data is collected. The
crystals, once cryo-protected, are then flash-cooled and mounted in the
cryo-stream on the Rigaku RU-H3 rotating anode X-ray generator (Figs 1, and 2). The cryo-stream is generated by
the X-stream cryo-stat (Fig1) and
maintains a temperature of 100 K around the crystal. Once the shutter is
opened the X-rays are focused by the Osmic Confocal optics (Fig.2 )and then collimated onto the
mounted crystal. The diffracted X-rays are then collected by the
RAXIS-IV++ image-plate detector (Figs 1
and 2). The images are then sent to
the data collection PC to be processed into a data set (Fig 3). |
