functions as a junior intern and participates actively in the clinical
care of patients and performs library research concerning the care of pediatric
patients. The student also receives supervision from the fellow in pediatric
surgery and makes rounds with the pediatric surgery house staff and attending.

Service. Acting as an extern, the student will function as an integral
member of the House Staff Team, which includes a General Surgery Intern,
a third year General Surgery Resident, a first year, a second year and
a third year Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellow.
