Students observe
and participate in the management of a wide variety of dermatologic diseases.

Description
An intense observational
exposure to Dermatologic Surgery including Mohs micrographic surgery
(including pathology), general Dermatologic Surgery, and Aesthetic
Dermatologic Surgery. The student will attend clinics daily in a very
busy Dermatologic Surgery practice.
This course is
restricted to students entering Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT or
Plastic Surgery.
All students must contact the course instructor prior to
enrollment.
Course objectives
- Discuss the common
to rare skin cancers and their treatment options.
- Discuss the prognosis
of more aggressive skin cancers.
- Understand the
advantages and disadvantages of various reconstructive techniques.
- Discuss the basic
principles of laser treatment including laser physics and safety.
