Curriculum Your last year of medical school can be a hectic time between finishing medical school requirements, applying for residency, taking Step 2, and preparing for graduation. It is important to strategically plan your year so that you can accomplish all these tasks most effectively. The fourth year consists of two clinical cores, an externship, and electives. The cores consist of four weeks each of internal medicine and surgery. The externship is four weeks in length and it is an acting internship where you will become an integral part of the hospital team. Electives make up the remainder of your fourth year schedule. |
