Introductory interactive discussions: There will be 2 Physical Diagnosis lectures held. By attending the two introductory interactive discussions of the Physical Diagnosis course, the students will be exposed to a complete review of clinical examinations. Small Group Sessions: Participation in the 4 inpatient History and Physical Examinations on the wards of either MUH, Childrens Hospital or VAMC. This will enable students to develop appropriate clinical and technical skills. The students will be divided into groups of 2 and will be assigned to a faculty preceptor. During these sessions each student will be expected to master the technique of physical examinations and develop an organized approach to the clinical evaluation. Members of the faculty will be asked to guide the students with the techniques on a one-to-one basis and critique the performance of their individual students, as well as grade each student's write-ups within 48 hours after the patient encounter. Attendance is mandatory for each scheduled session.
