OBJECTIVES:

  • Deliver an entry-level, primarily online transitional DPT curriculum to qualified MUSC Physical Therapy Educational Program graduates of the Master of Health Science and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science: Physical Therapy degree programs.
  • Enable MUSC Masters-level physical therapy graduates the means of acquiring the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required of contemporary physical therapist practice that is comparable to DPT graduate learners’ competencies.
  • Engage students in a lock-step sequence of transitional DPT courses over three continuous semesters totaling 18 doctoral credits (6 SH required per semester), with two onsite Capstone Weekends to be scheduled Spring 2008.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • Complete the online application prior to April 2, 2007 through the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) at: http://www.musc.edu/em/admissions
  • Provide physical therapist licensure verification from all state licensing boards that hold your PT license(s).
  • Complete a criminal background check as a condition of matriculation.
  • Pay tuition and fees to Student Accounting: www.musc.edu/studentaccounting
  • Matriculation fees of $326 include records processing, background check, diploma generation, and graduation ceremony.
  • Pay a per semester program fee.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Minimum enrollment of 15 candidates required to implement the t-DPT online degree program.
  • Enrollment may be restricted to assure quality programming.
  • Transitional program offered only to MUSC Master of Health Science or Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science: Physical Therapy graduates.[*]
  • Transitional program offered only one time: May 2007 - May 2008.
  • Applicants can monitor MUSC receipt of materials online through OEM.
  • Notification will be mailed as soon as individual admission decisions are finalized.
  • Class of 2007 MUSC Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science: Physical Therapy track (licensure-eligible) students are required to submit proof of NPTE passing grade as a condition of graduation from the t-DPT program.
