Research in the College of Health Professions is one of the core components of each of the three academic departments. The college has three research centers and two research programs. Substantial efforts have been made to enhance the infrastructure and support research, resulting in a steady increase in extramural funding and scholarship by university faculty in recent years. Research awards are given every year to the outstanding scholar and developing scholar within the college. Total extramural grant funding for the past fiscal year was $3,500,418 (76% of which were federal awards). The primary goals of research in the College of Health Professions are to - Enhance the health and well-being of all individuals, particularly those in the state of South Carolina
- Contribute to the bodies of knowledge representing the biologic, behavioral and social sciences through scholarly publications and presentations
