| Kim O'Bryant Scholarship Fundraiser |
The Kim Martino Scholarship Fundraising Event was held on March 6, 2007 in the CHP Atrium and featured the art quilts of Marlene O'Bryant-Seabrook, a gallery talk and a silent auction. The scholarship was established to honor the memory of Kim O'Bryant Martino, a physical therapy student in the College of Health Professions, who died in 2003. As part of the scholarship affair, Marlene O’Bryant Seabrook (Martino's mother), top left photo, conducts a gallery talk. Student Health Professionals United in Recognizing Diversity (SHPURD), formerly known as the Association for Black Health Professions, along with Dr. Becki Trickey, executive associate dean; Catherine McCullough, director of development; Jennifer Bailey, director of student services; and David Howell, student services coordinator were instrumental in the initiative to establish the scholarship so that Kim's legacy will benefit an under-represented College of Health Professons’ student. SHPURD members also helped with the event in which more than $4,650 was raised for the scholarship fund.
