Medical University of South Carolina's College of Health Professions


Program objectives
This year we will feature an outstanding speaker panel with topics ranging from airway to error. At the completion of the conference, participants should be able to:

  • Appreciate how drugs of abuse affect motivation circuits in the brain
  • Demonstrate specific tasks CRNAs may undertake to help advance AANA's federal policy objectives
  • Discuss the most commonly occurring errors in anesthesia
  • Review anatomy of the lumbar and cervical spine
  • Understand the process and basic costs associated with a typical CRNA benefit package
  • Review the adverse effects of nitrous oxide
  • Review basic airway assessment
  • Discuss what types of technology will test for each type of competency
  • Understand the principles of basic physics underlying echocardiography

This program has been approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists for 19 CE credits; Code Number 302705; Expiration date: May 4, 2008.

Transportation
Public transportation is available from the Charleston International Airport to the downtown Charleston area. On arrival, check in with the taxi/limousine stand in the airport's front drive. Taxis meet all incoming flights.
   
Parking
Valet parking is available to guests of DoubleTree Guest Suites and is currently $19/day (subject to change). Other area parking garages are available for those not staying at this hotel.

Refunds
Your registration fee will be refunded if the cancellation request is received by April 1, 2008. $100 will be deducted after this date. Substitutions are welcomed. We reserve the right to cancel the program if necessary. Full registration fees will be refunded for canceled programs. The Medical University of South Carolina cannot be responsible for reimbursement of airline or other transportation fares, hotel or rental car charges, or any associated penalties.
