    Project estimates differentials in utilization and cost of health services by chronic drug users relative to non-chronic users and non-drug users using the most recent public use file of the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse. 03/01/03 - 02/28/05.
  • "Testing a Managed Care Approach, Group Visits in Disadvantages Patients with Type 2 Diabetes"
    Project evaluates the effect of Group Visits for Diabetic patients in a randomized control trial on the outcomes and costs of care. 06/15/03 - 02/28/05.
  • "Socio-Ecomonic Determinants of Physician Prescribing and Individual Compliance in Inhaled Steroid Use Among Asthmatic Pediatric Medicaid Beneficiaries."
    Project determines the factors that affect the prescribing and filling of inhaled steroids in pediatric asthmatic beneficiaries.  07/01/03 - 06/30/04.
  • "DAODAS Prior Authorization System Outcome Evaluation"
    Project determines the factors that affect the success and efficiency of the South Carolina Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services Prior Authorization System. 08/01/02 - 07/30/03.
    Evaluation: HMO, Sickle Cell Disease, and Diabetes" (Principal Investigator). Carolina Medical Review.  The goal of this research is to evaluate theHMO program within the SC Medicaid system, and to evaluate guideline adherence for Sickle Cell disease and Diabetes.  06/01/03 - 12/31/03; $40,000 (hourly effort).
