FTP using SSH

  1. Download the Telnet/SSH client

  2. Open the SSH Secure File Transfer Client (not the Secure Shell program)

  3. Click on the 4th button (computer monitor) to Connect.


  4. Type in atrium.musc.edu in the Host Name field. Type in your user name, then click Connect. You will be prompted for your MNA password.


  5. You will see your Homeroom directories in the left side of the window and the files listed in the right side of the window


  6. To move files from Homeroom to your local computer, highlight the files you wish to move, then from the Operation menu, select Download. From here you will be presented with a window prompting you to select where you'd like to save the file. Navigate to the appropriate folder and hit Download.


  7. To upload files from your local computer to Homeroom, first navigate to the appropriate folder in your Homeroom directory in the SSH window. Click once on a folder to see the sub-directories and contents. When the correct folder is active, go to the Operation window again and select Upload. Navigate to the files on your local computer, highlight and click Upload. You may upload multiple files at one time.

  8. When you've completed all your file transfers, click on the button with the computer monitor that has a red slash through it. Close window to exit.
