MUSC Catering Service Guide

watermelon basketThe Medical University Catering Guide has been developed to inform you about the wide variety of services that are available to you from our catering department.  Whether you are planning a special function for your department or are in need of a break from your routine, our staff is willing to assist and provide you with service and quality.  Catering services are available to any department of the Medical University of South Carolina.  All catering service requests must have the appropriate administrative approval and hospital account numbers.  Our normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Services are available on weekends and evenings by special arrangement.
Minimum order during week days $50.00 (each delivery) on  weekends $500.00 
We do not provide the tables for function
.

How to Order a Catered Event

To make your catering arrangements, please contact the catering coordinator at extension 4263, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Events should be requested no less than two working days (48 hours) in advance and must be confirmed by the catering coordinator.  Our staff can always be reached at extension 4263 or fax 4257 for last minute details, questions, or requests.  Your event may be planned using the MUSC Catering Services Guide and Menus.  If you should require items not listed in the Guide or have a group of 50 or more, please let us provide assistance with your special request.  

Clean Up and After Hours Charges

If your function requires clean up afterwards, you must request it with your order.  A fee of $15.00 is charged for the clean up service. MUSC Catering uses disposable products as much as possible to allow customers to clean up after their function. If non disposable items, i.e. coffee urns, are used at a function, Catering will return to pick this these up as soon as possible after the lunch deliveries are made.If it is requested at the time the order is placed, that non disposablees be picked up at a specific time, Catering will consider it a clean up request and schedule it with the $15.00 fee. A fee of $40.00 is charged for the any function after 4:00 p.m.

Flowers and Decorations

The Catering Coordinator can assist you if your event should need flowers, centerpieces or special garnishes. There is a 20% service charge for this service.

Linens

Table linens are available to all events for   $8.00 each  Skirting are also available additionally for $14.00 each.

Delivery

Catering prices include delivery and setup where applicable.  Delivery is available in the Hospital, Clinical Science Building, Library/Administration Building, Children's Resaerch Institute (delivery charge applies). College of Nursing (delivery charge applies), Gazes Building (delivery charge applies), College of Health Professions (delivery charge applies), Institute of Psychiatry (delivery charge applies), Basic Science Building, Hollings Cancer Center (delivery charge applies), Rutledge Towers (delivery charge applies), St. Francis Annex (delivery charge applies), University Guest House (delivery charge applies), Waring Historical Library (delivery charge applies), St. Lukes Chapel (delivery charge applies), Baruch Auditorium delivery charge applies), Sebring Aimar House (delivery charge applies). All deliveries to President's Office, Canon Park Place, CMH Hospital, Gazes /STB, 135 Cannon Street, 136 Rutledge Avenue, College of Health Professions, Wachovia and McClennan Bank, Wellness Center and Harbor View Tower Buildings, VA Hospital, Roper Hospital and ART Hospital require a van and will be charged $30.00 for this service. Food may be prepared for you to pick up when delivery is not available.The MUHA Catering Staff will do everything in its power to deliver your order at your requested time. On occasion however, volume may require us to deliver those orders which were placed first. If a conflict were to arise, the customer would be notified as soon as possible.

Changes and Cancellations

Changes and/or cancellations in the guaranteed number of guests must be made not less than 48 hours before the scheduled function in written form.  Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may result in charges for any cost incurred.

Payment

Payment for your event may be done by an IIT by check or Credit Card (Visa or Master Card or AMEX). Please fax the HARD COPY of the IIT to:  MUSC/Catering. Fax: 792 4257

No charge for any extra topping (Italian Sausage, Mushroom, Green Pepper, Yellow Pepper and Red Pepper, Sliced Vine Ripened Tomatoes, Sliced Onions, Black Olives, Feta Cheese, Aged Cheddar Cheese, Ground Beef ). This includes 6 canned soft t drinks of your choice.

Seasoned filet mignon sliced thin and accented with horseradish sauce on a french roll, with lettuce and tomato, served with a light potato salad.

LEMON PEPPER CHICKEN CLUB     $8.75 per person
Lemon pepper baked breast of chicken topped with thinly shaved ham, Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato on a french roll, served with fresh fruit garnish.

LUNCH IN A WINDOW BOX   $8.75 and $12.950 (tenderloin)
Any of the above sandwiches is coming with your choice of: 6oz meat, lettuce, tomatoes and 1oz cheese

DELI LUNCH BUFFET     $8.75  per person
Served on trays: Smoked turkey, honey ham, roast beef, Swiss and Provolone cheese; lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini and pickles; bags of chips. White or Wheat bread.

Deli Lunch Buffet and all sandwiches served with 2 cookies, chips, cold beverage (sodas), condiments, and complete utensil kit.

Cold Lunch in Clear Box (minimum 10 people per item)

Smoked Skewered Chicken Breast on Bed of Crispy Garden Salad. Served with dressing of your choice and sliced French Bread
Chips. 1 cookie and soda included. $7.75 per person

Chicken Linguine. Marinated and broiled strips of chicken breast laced over fresh linguine with extra virgin olive oil and fresh chopped basil. Chips. 1 cookie and soda included. $7.75 per person

Beef Salad. Marinated Beef on a bed of bow tie pasta with green peas, diced green, yellow and red bell peppers and fresh chopped parsley. Chips. 1 cookie and soda included. $7.75 per person

Two ( 3oz. each ) Light Shrimp cakes ( no mayonaisse inside) served on bed mixed greens. Nicely garnished with seasonal vegetables.

CHEF'S SALAD   $8.75 per person
Honey smoked turkey, ham or  chicken breast  with Swiss, Asiago or  Cheddar cheese, and fresh vegetables on crisp garden greens with your choice of dressing and served with crackers or dinner rolls. Butter optional for extra charge.

SHRIMP SALAD "LA BELLE "   $10.75 per person
Six Jumbo Shrimp, served with finely diced fresh celery, yellow, red and green peppers, on a bed of lettuce. Nicely garnished with fresh vegetable. Served with dinner rolls and butter.

VEGETARIAN PASTA AL FRESCO   $7.75  per person
Pasta served with diced sweet red, yellow and green peppers, black olives. Seasoned lightly with garlic and topped with freshly grated Asiago cheese.

MARINATED SHRIMP IN AVOCADO HALVES (minimum 5 people) $10.95 per person
Avocado Halves Stuffed With Peeled Marinated Shrimp. Served With Diced Tomateos, Yellow, Reed and Green Bell Pepper Salsa and Crackers.

CHICKEN EL GRECO   $8.75 per person
Sauted Chicken breast fillets marinated in Dry Sack sherry, julienne three color peppers, black olives, and wine ripened tomatoes. Served with Pasta Primavera and dinner rolls and butter on side.

All cold plates served with 2 cookie, cold beverage and condiments.

   Marinated Vegetarian Tofu Salad   $6.75 per person
Diced firm tofu and vegetables marinated in Marukan/Garlic Vinaigrette served on a bed of julienne lettuce. Vegetables include vine ripened tomatoes, seedless cucumber, green, red and yellow peppers. Marukan is a seasoned gourmet rice vinegar that adds a slightly sweet taste to the vinaigrette. Served with bread of your choice and cold beverage.

MOZARELLA SALAD ITALIAN COUNTRY STYLE

Sliced fresh Mozarella on a bed of crisp Romaine lettuce, topped with sliced vine ripened tomateos and fresh basil pesto. Served with wedge of Foccacia freshly baked bread.

Poached Mung beans serve over thread rice noodles with fresh sliced cucumbers, garnish wih finely diced sweet peppers and Tahini/ginger/garlic dressing.
