12 The Awendaw Grass on the Green Music Festival will be held from noon to
9 p.m. in Awendaw. Awendaw Green is a music venue, 30 minutes outside
of downtown Charleston. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Pet

Flip Flop Ball will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at Goldbug Island.
Tickets for the fundraiser, which will benefit Wings for Kids, are $35

Youth Summer Seminar Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MUSC
Institute of Psychiatry Auditorium, 67 President St. This program is
offered to therapists, nurses, doctors, teachers, mental health workers
and any other groups that work to improve the health of South

Cathedral of St.John the Baptist cookbooks for sale
The
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist has collected recipes from members,
family and friends and compiled them into an attractive keepsake cookbook "These
Thy Gifts." These cookbooks have approximately 300 recipes. Cookbooks
are available for purchase at the

, for $20 each. Orders can be
shipped for an additional fee of $5 per book. Proceeds will be used for the

T-shirt design competition
The
19th Annual Reindeer Run will sponsor a T-shirt design contest. The
winner will receive a $250 prize and be featured on the official

Members
of the S.C. Society Children of the American Revolution (SC SCAR)
present a $2,500 check and deliver 250 blank dolls to the Atrium June
27. Standing from left are Jill Templeton, senior state chair of Kids
Helping Kids; SC SCAR's Thomas Burnette, honorary state president;
Angela Cox, senior state president; Collie Cox, state chaplain; and
(sitting) Christine Burnette, senior state chair and head of the
projects committee. The 300-member SC SCAR made the dolls and raised
the money through silent auctions and selling Children's Hospital pins,
which will help fund pediatric cardiology at MUSC Children's Hospital.
Storm
Eye Institute (SEI) patient Brandon Costanza, left, and mother Theresa
Costanza, share his transplant story with Karl Novak, chairman, SEI
Board of Directors. Brandon, a patient of SEI cornea surgeon Dr.
Heather Skeens, is the first patient in South Carolina to have an
artificial cornea transplant to treat congenital aniridia. Brandon
shared his story with the SEI Board of Directors during their May
meeting in Brandon's home town of Spartanburg.
