Meteorologist, Bill Walsh, taught students to read and understand weather maps. Students used this knowledge during shuttle missions in KidSat operations.

First Grade students from Goodwin Elementary visited the Charleston Air Force Base to learn how to read computerized weather maps. Hands on experience prepared them for their role in the GeoCam Control Room during the 1993 space shuttle mission where they were responsible for determining inclement weather for possible photo targets.
