Using an Atlas
Notes:
Besides the many fine book atlases, you can now also get a comprehensive atlas on CD ROM. Several are available, including some “bargain software” versions for as little as $10. Slightly more expensive, but highly recommended is the Microsoft Encarta Virtual Globe.
Inexpensive
Has great depth of detail and information
Incredible variety of map types
Interactive mode teaches computer skills
Built-in multi-level geography quiz
Animated aerial flight simulations
Seamless internet linkage
One draw back is that it is presently available only for the PC
