Dual PharmD/MBA Program
Dual PharmD/MBA programs are currently offered at several college of pharmacy in the United States, helping to meet the need for pharmacists who understand general business principles as well as direct patient care activities. The dual degree is considered highly desirable for persons seeking careers in institutional practice settings, the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy benefit management organizations, and academia.

The dual degree program between MUSC’s College of Pharmacy and the Citadel’s School of Business Administration will allow students to achieve both degrees in the same four-year period it would otherwise take to achieve the PharmD degree alone. Students interested in the dual degree program should apply to the Citadel during the second semester at the College of Pharmacy. Students will be required to take the GMAT for admission into the Citadel’s program. The application deadline is April 1st, but students are encouraged to apply earlier if possible. Students will take MBA courses during their second and third summers and no more than one MBA course each semester during their second and third years. As constructed, this dual degree program conveys a significant savings in credit hours and tuition payments over those required of students who might pursue both degrees concurrently outside of this program. All of the Citadel’s courses are offered in the evening, so there are no scheduling conflicts.
