General Admissions Requirements Professional Credentials Applicants must submit copies of their official professional credentials and licenses as appropriate for their health profession. Previous Academic Experience Applicants must have a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. An applicant is expected to demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. Given the nature of post-professional graduate education, applicants are expected to have computer literacy and effective writing skills. Standardized Tests Applicants must submit satisfactory scores on Part I of the National Dental Boards. Graduated dentists must also submit Part II of the National Dental Boards. Predoctoral students must submit Part II scores when they are available. Recommendations At least three recommendations must be submitted. These recommendations should come from individuals who can comment directly upon the applicant’s professional background, academic capabilities, and personal motivation. Individual Appointments Applicants are strongly encouraged to meet with members of the teaching faculty during the admissions process. International Applicants International applicants should submit complete information as early as possible to allow adequate time for processing. In addition to other admission requirements, the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) are required. Applicants should send for an evaluation of their international transcripts to Credentials Evaluation Service, PO Box 66490, Los Angeles, CA 90066. Application Procedures Applications are accepted throughout the year. All official transcripts must be submitted before an application will be processed. Full-time students are encouraged to apply in time to enroll for the fall semester. Applications received after the deadline for an admission cycle are reviewed during the next cycle. Other Requirements Transfer of Graduate Work To be considered for transfer, graduate courses must be from an approved graduate program and approved by the faculty. These courses should be consistent with the student’s course of study. A maximum of nine semester hours of credit in courses with grades of “B” or above may be accepted. Courses graded on a pass/fail basis will be judged on an individual basis. The credits to be transferred must be dated no more than five years prior to the date of entry into the programs.
