Department of Health Professions
The Department of Health Professions is an integral part of the College of Health Professions. As such it joins the college in its service to the citizens of the state, region, and nation by providing an environment for learning and discovery through interdisciplinary and discipline-specific professional development of health professionals and the environmental health work force.

Through its campus-based and outreach initiatives the department serves as a resource for citizens and health professionals across the state. It strives to improve the delivery of health care to a diverse population by providing educational programs, applied research, and consultation focusing on the continuing professional education needs of health professionals, health care organizations, and those responsible for the health and environmental preservation.

The mission is accomplished through an environment characterized by flexibility; mutual support; sensitivity to diversity; openness and respect among students, faculty, students, and staff; fiscal responsibility and accountability; and a commitment to the ideals of lifelong learning and service excellence.

Purpose Statement
To serve and improve the health care status of the statewide community by continuously improving the health care and health preservation work force.
