Doctor of Health Administration
James Zoller, Ph.D., DHA Program Director

The purpose of the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) Program offered by the Medical University of South Carolina’s Department of Health Administration and Policy is to meet the intellectual and career objectives of experienced institutional and puiblic health professionals who 1) want to excel as leaders seeking solutions to the complex challenges confronting the health care arena, and 2) who recognize the importance of life-long learning and career development.

The challenge to develop a cost-effective, quality health care system that is responsive to evolving health care policy initiatives requires a substantial increase in new knowledge and leadership skills for those who will lead the industry. These challenges illustrate the necessity for formal education beyond the masters degree level.  This innovative advanced degree program provides the experienced professional with a learning environment that integrates the perspectives of students from an array of disciplines and from a variety of healthcare organizations.  Supported by outstanding faculty, researchers, and leading experts in the industry, the DHA program develops health care leaders who will be successful agents of change in the health care industry.
