CARES Free Clinic looking for Physician Golfers
Message:
Commonwealth Financial Group and the MUSC student-run C.A.R.E.S. free clinic invite golfers to attend the Inaugural Commonwealth Cares Classic Golf Invitational on Tuesday, May 13th. This tournament will be held on the challenging Rees Jones, Ralston Creek Course, which is a part of Daniel Island Country Club.
The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 12:30. The registration fee is $1,200 for a team of four, and Commonwealth is focused on recruiting physician golfers. Prizes will include top notch golf clubs, bags, and golf apparel. If you would like to sign up for the tournament, please contact Nick Sanders at nick.sanders@commonwealthfg.com or visit the tournaments official website, www.commonwealthfg.com/CCC.
The proceeds from this tournament will benefit the C.A.R.E.S. clinic, a medical student-initiated and managed non-profit organization located in Mt. Pleasant. The C.A.R.E.S. clinic provides free medical care to the underserved, uninsured population in the local Charleston area.
It opened its doors in 2005, and currently sees patients on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Many community physicians, including those practicing at MUSC, volunteer as medical advisors for the Clinic. Services provided include primary care, gynecology, physical therapy, and psychiatric care. The clinic is located at 1145 Six Mile Road in Mt. Pleasant, across from Laing Middle School.
