Listed below are dates on which legal holidays for South Carolina State employees will be observed during 2008. Departments with a seven-days-a-week operation should ensure that full-time employees who do not work the Monday through Friday workweek receive the same number of holidays as those who do. Employees of the Medical University Hospital Authority are not subject to State Human Resource Regulations and have a different PTO/Holiday Plan.

New Year’s Day: Tuesday, Jan 1
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Monday, Jan 21
George Washington’s Birthday/ President’s Day: Monday, Feb 18
Confederate Memorial Day: Friday, May 9
National Memorial Day: Monday, May 26
Independence Day: Friday, July 4
Labor Day: Monday, Sep 1
Veterans Day: Tuesday, Nov 11 (Observed)
Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, Nov 27
Day After Thanksgiving: Friday, Nov 28
Christmas Day: Thursday, Dec 25
Day After Christmas: Friday, Dec 26
