Contributed Posters
The SRCOS Summer Research Conference will host a poster session Tuesday, June 10, 2008. All conference attendees, especially graduate students and junior faculty, are encouraged to participate in the contributed poster session sharing their research with the other conference participants. Posters presenting work in any area of statistical methodology and applications are welcome. Student posters will be entered in a competition for recognition by the Clint Miller (founder of the erstwhile Department of Biometry in 1968, currently DBBE at the Medical University of South Carolina) best poster award and a series of R. L. Anderson awards. Awards will be determined by an anonymous panel of judges and announced at the Tuesday evening banquet.
Funds have been requested to supplement travel costs for junior faculty speakers and graduate students presenting contributed posters.
To participate in the poster session, please submit a title and a brief abstract (in plain text or LaTeX) to Angela Williams at srcos08info@musc.edu by May 12, 2008.
**UPDATE** We are no longer accepting zero dollar registrations. Students and retirees that wish to attend must pay the $175 registration fee.
Graduate Student Funding
The conference has funding to provide partial travel support to a limited number of graduate students who present a poster in the program's poster session. The funds are provided by SRCOS and are to be used to offset some of the costs incurred by attending the conference. However, more grant funding is anticipated and related information will be updated here.
To apply for a graduate student travel award, please submit a title and brief abstract to Angela Williams at srcos08info@musc.edu by April 15, 2008. Please include the name and email address of your thesis advisor and indicate your anticipated graduation date. Applications will be reviewed and final decisions made by April 30, 2008 to allow recipients to make travel arrangements in a timely fashion.
**UPDATE** We are no longer accepting zero dollar registrations. Students and retirees that wish to attend must pay the $175 registration fee.
