Specific Aims

The specific aims of the Charleston Alcohol Research Center for the current funding period are:

To undertake a focused, coordinated, integrated, and multidisciplinary programmatic research effort related to precipitants and/or prevention of alcohol relapse
To act as a Center of Excellence locally, regionally, and nationally for alcohol treatment research, relying upon our strengths related to pharmacotherapy of alcohol treatment
To encourage and support alcohol research growth throughout the MUSC campus by attracting new scientists, new trainees, new research areas, new methods, and more collaborative efforts
To provide common infrastructure resources to help investigators increase efficiency, maximize productivity, and/or collect pilot data
To increase the awareness of the latest information related to alcohol and alcoholism to clients, the public, MUSC faculty, trainees, physicians and future physicians
