The Institute of Psychiatry Hospital contains 90 licensed beds for inpatient treatment of psychiatric disorders in adults, adolescents, and children. Twenty-three of the beds, located on the 4th floor, are licensed for substance abuse treatment.
The Institute of Psychiatry Pharmacy is located on the 4th floor of the Institute of Psychiatry North in the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs. This facility is the storage area for drugs used in support of Institute of Psychiatry patients and clinical trials, and related packaging materials.
The CNL is a fully equipped clinical and research laboratory and is comprised of two laboratories on the first floor of the Institute of Psychiatry North, and a phlebotomy area in close proximity to the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs on the fourth floor. This laboratory is certified by the College of Pathology, is compliant with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA), and utilizes extensive quality control and proficiency testing programs. The laboratory performs analyses of blood and urine samples for tests used for research and the clinical care of patients. It supports a number of clinical research protocols in the areas of phlebotomy, sample processing and storage, clinical assays, and research assay development.

Located two blocks from the Institute of Psychiatry, this division of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is engaged in programmatic research on the impact of victimization and disaster on psychological and physical health. This division works closely with both the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs and the Alcohol Research Center researchers.
A small, AAALAC-accredited rodent facility is located on site. The facility meets AAALAC requirements and is run by the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources. All Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs basic scientists utilize this facility.

Directly inside the main entrance of the Institute of Psychiatry, the auditorium is fully equipped with modern audio/visual equipment and has a seating capacity of 165. This is the site for Psychiatry Grand Rounds, the Addiction Research Seminar series, and numerous meetings and conferences.

The Center has established a small library of periodicals, journals, slide packages, and resource books available for the use of the researchers. This library is currently located in the CDAP 5th floor conference room (Room 552 North).

Room 451 North, adjacent to the Center's faculty offices, is a large conference room which accommodates groups up to 35. It has a permanently mounted screen and LCD projector, conference call capability, and ample space for use and storage of visual support equipment. This room is used for the monthly Steering Committee meetings, seminars and journal club meetings. A smaller conference room is located on the 5th floor in room 552 North.

The ABRL consists of a sound-attenuated subject testing room and an adjacent experimenter control room. Located on the fourth floor of the Institute of Psychiatry, it contains a range of computer and psychophysiological recording equipment and a broad range of testing and calibration equipment.

The Alcohol Cue Exposure Laboratory, or "Bar Laboratory," is a naturalistic setting for the consumption of alcohol that was first created for use during the initial funding period of the Center. This laboratory, located on the fourth floor of the Institute of Psychiatry North, contains a five-foot long, freestanding, L-shaped bar, along with appropriate bar accouterments and decor. The laboratory has a full suite of equipment including a computer and physiological hardware for the collection of physiological signals.
