The Administrative Core is under the direction of Dr. Carrie Randall, the Center Director. Within the Alcohol Research Center, a single entity, like the Administrative Core, that monitors and facilitates the integration, coordination, and documentation of ARC functions and activities is critical for smooth organizational operation. The Administrative Core staff are familiar with every aspect of the ARC, all personnel, each core's responsibilities and goals, and the aims of each the research components.

The Administrative Core is the hub of the ARC. It is the central coordinating point for all ARC activities. It influences each core and research component and is the glue that holds all the pieces together to make a cohesive, functioning unit. The Administrative Core provides 1) defined physical space, 2) unambiguous leadership, 3) a clear management and committee structure, 4) administrative and fiscal services, 5) and a means for communication, integration, and quality control.
