Scientists from MUSC spent a morning at a local school, Porter Gaud,
with 120 fourth and fifth graders, talking about brain health and neuroscience.
The children got to touch and hold human and rat brains and spinal cords,
and asked plenty of interesting questions saidLotta Granholm, Director
for Center on Aging, and Jason Lockrow, MD/PhD student. The visit is part
of a program trying to educate children and adults about healthy habits
which can lead to reduction in age-related diseases such as Alzheimer's
disease. |
