Confidentiality and Privacy of Patient and Physician Information

With an extensive background in medical research, both MUSC and PPRNet understand and embrace the need for strict safeguards concerning patient and data supplier privacy. Accordingly, all patient-level data used by PPRNet is stripped of patient-identifiable information. In order to facilitate longitudinal analysis, an encrypted patient identifier is assigned by the extract program prior to receipt of data by PPRNet.

PPRNet will hold in confidence the identity of participating physicians or practices.
