Our Laboratory focuses on mechanisms by which sphingolipids mediate signaling pathways and regulate fungal pathogenesis, particularly in Cryptococcus neoformans.  C. neoformans is an opportunistic fungal pathogen that is the most common worldwide cause of a life-threatening meningeoencephalitis, primarily in immunocompromised patients.
